the wife and i took a little weekend getaway up to the atx for her birthday.  did a little shopping and hit up the SoCo food trucks.  definitely should be a place to stop if you're in the mood for some good eats.

you need to check this spot out if you're in the utsa area for lunch time.  chicken chipotle, chicken cilantro and the deshebrada are money.  i have to warn you...the deshebrada is a little on the picoso side.

i went with the chicken chipotle and cochinita pibil this time around.  la costra del guero is up next, so be sure to check back next month for pics

2011-12 silver dancer tryouts - finals

finals for the 2011-12 silver dancer tryouts were held at the at&t center tuesday night.  good crowd and a great performance from all the finalists.  too bad only fourteen girls could be selected.  be looking out for the new squad (that's if the lockout situation get resolved) at the upcoming spurs season.

haven for hope

a good friend of mine started donating his saturday mornings to some of the less fortunate people in san antonio a few weeks back. so i decided to join him this past weekend, the duty of the day was to prepare 350+ breakfast and lunch meals. it felt good to give back to those that need help and it felt even better knowing i was able to give them a meal first thing in the morning. i must say that every single person i handed a meal to was very appreciative and thanked me with a smile and a good morning. these folks lack all the trivial and materialistic crap we have, but their common courtesy was right on...something that some of the more fortunate lack.
